Cleetus McFarland Awaits NASCAR O’Reily Superspeedway License Decision

Cleetus McFarland eagerly awaits to hear if he will be approved to race in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on April 25 after his performance at Rockingham Speedway over the weekend. In his Bald Eagles podcast on Monday, he mentioned that the decision would be made the following day, emphasizing that it is now in NASCAR’s hands. Despite his desire to race, he expressed a sense of indifference, noting that his main focus has always been on the summer races at Daytona and Talladega.

Following the NOAPS race last Saturday, Cleetus faced some skepticism about his performance from Richard Childress Racing executive Danny Lawrence, who raised concerns about meeting the requirements for a superspeedway license. Lawrence explained that certain aspects, such as live pit stops, still needed to be evaluated and improved upon. In the event that he does not obtain the NOAPS approval, Cleetus has plans to participate in the ARCA Racing Series event at Talladega during the upcoming April race weekend. The uncertainty surrounding his approval has not deterred his determination to pursue racing opportunities and make the most of any situation presented to him.
