BGN Temporarily Suspends Nutrition Services in East Nusa Tenggara: Impact and Updates

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has decided to temporarily suspend the operations of its Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) after discovering substandard food in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to the BGN, stated that the affected SPPG units are on hold until the investigation is completed and MBG food samples are thoroughly tested in the laboratory. BGN is collaborating with independent institutions, local health, and education departments to investigate the root cause while ensuring the health of affected students is monitored closely. The agency expressed regret to the students, parents, schools, and all impacted parties, emphasizing zero tolerance for negligence in providing MBG meals that could endanger the beneficiaries’ health.
