Empowering Independence: Merah Putih Village Cooperatives and Economic Equity

President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita vision includes the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives (Kopdes Merah Putih), aimed at achieving true independence through economic self-reliance and equitable development. This initiative is designed to build from the grassroots up, focusing on economic equity and poverty eradication. The launch of over 80,000 Kopdes Merah Putih cooperatives in Bentangan Village, Central Java, highlights the President’s commitment to improving the well-being of the people. These cooperatives serve as engines of inclusive economic growth, empowering communities to participate meaningfully in the development process. By providing storage facilities and logistics support, Kopdes Merah Putih aims to increase the value and income of products, reduce dependency on middlemen, and create new rural jobs. Ultimately, these cooperatives are expected to enhance the quality of life for farmers and fishers, prevent youth migration to urban centers, and open up new opportunities for economic growth in local communities.
