President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his support for Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring hundreds of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia during a bilateral meeting at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília. Prabowo welcomed the plan as a crucial step to boost cooperation between the two countries in trade and investment. He highlighted the shared interests and vast potentials of Indonesia and Brazil in strengthening economic relations, given their large populations and rich natural resources.
Prabowo acknowledged that while previous cooperation agreements between the two nations remained on paper, there is a genuine opportunity for tangible collaboration based on mutual benefits. He commended Brazil’s progress in agriculture and bioenergy and expressed Indonesia’s eagerness to learn from their experience, citing Brazil’s innovative approaches as valuable lessons for Indonesia.
Moreover, Prabowo appreciated President Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plan to send more technical teams to study Brazil’s agricultural technologies and innovations. He noted their fruitful discussions during the visit and outlined Indonesia’s commitment to learning from Brazil’s advancements in various sectors.
In addition to his visit to Brasília, Prabowo attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro and looked forward to President Lula’s upcoming visit to Indonesia in October. He promised a warm reception and a grand celebration in Jakarta to mark Lula’s 80th birthday. This exchange of visits and collaboration between Indonesia and Brazil signifies the growing partnership and potential for further cooperation in the future.
