Agus Joyo Sutono, a dedicated contract-based government teacher in Jati District, Kudus Regency, has been imparting knowledge for over two decades. Recently, he expressed his appreciation for the enhancements in the distribution of the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) during President Prabowo Subianto’s tenure. Agus emphasized that the issuance of TPG has become more efficient, accurate, and transparent, facilitating prompt allocation of allowances to teachers nationwide.
Embarking on his teaching journey in 2003 and officially becoming a PPPK teacher in 2023, Agus considers this milestone as a pivotal moment in terms of acknowledgment and drive to enrich his teaching skills. Despite receiving TPG since 2011, it was only this year that he experienced a substantial enhancement in the distribution process. Agus highlighted the revamped method of direct central transfers to teachers’ accounts, rendering the process streamlined and more effective.
To Agus, TPG signifies more than just a financial incentive; it symbolizes trust and governmental support for the teaching profession. He lauded the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and President Prabowo for the innovative policy that simplified the distribution process. Besides supporting his family, Agus allocates a portion of his TPG allowance for his educational pursuits, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in primary school education.
In addition to personal endeavors, Agus showcases solidarity by aiding non-civil servant teaching staff and participating in school activities with part of his TPG allowance. He envisions the new policy as a lasting standard to bolster the welfare and professionalism of dedicated educators. Agus envisions continued benefits from TPG for teachers as a contribution to a better Indonesia.
